Lions Clubs  all over Australia  invite young people to participate in a public speaking development program called "Youth of the Year".   They are asked several current affairs questions and then give a 5 minute talk on a topical subject of their choice.  In 2007 Kristen Dunn gave a very thought provoking talk on Teenage Drinking, a problem for society all over Australia. Lions all over Australia encourage young people in Year 11 to develop their public speaking skills and confidence by entering in the Youth of the Year program.  Kentish is very fortunate to have excelled in the organising of this event, thanks wholly to Lion Denis Rockliff and Lion lady Jill.
